Recently, a member from our Boffo Family of Companies took a quick research trip to the ‘City that Never Sleeps’ as it’s popularly known, but also known as “The City of Amazing Architecture and Design” (at least in our Boffo Family of Companies offices). New York. Amidst the brownstone row homes, the bustle of the financial district and the quiet elegance of Central Park, there is always a must visit for our team: The New York Design Center.
This year, the exhibits and showrooms covered a wide array of design and architectural stylings. Of note, Korts & Knight Kitchens by Alexandra Knight showcased kitchens that were more like works of art. Expertly designed to work with existing space, offering unique concepts and high quality finishes, these custom cabinets and kitchens featured true New York style.
A show-stopping display that covered the entire 10th floor of the Design Center is a new partnership between the NYDC and 1stdibs.com. This gallery space provides 1stdibs with their first physical presence in the marketplace, making the most beautiful antiques and mid-century furniture even more accessible. 1stdibs.com is the number one online luxury marketplace and together with NYDC, this partnership has created a truly spectacular display of art and design. All in all, a trip to New York is always a highlight for the entire office. Stories of good food, amazing culture, and inspiring design and architecture, result in lots of inspiration for our team (some of which will hopefully carry over into the New Year and new projects!)
