Where to Find Summer

The weather might not be cooperating and perhaps you are wondering if summer has arrived at all, but no matter where you are or what the weather predicts, we have some great summer must do’s and the perfect venues for playing outside!

Sup or Sip on a Patio – There are some iconic Vancouver restaurants with perfect patio seating. Most won’t take reservations, but if you can dine a little earlier or later than the norm, you will more than likely find yourself in luck!  Restaurants like The Boathouse in English Bay, Bridges on the shores of Granville Island or Pier 7 on the waterfront of Lower Lonsdale, all offer spectacular outdoor seating with picturesque views of the Vancouver skyline.

Play at the PNE  –  Enjoy rides, carnival games, shows, mini donuts and more! You can opt for the quieter days during PNE Playland or wait for the ever popular two week Fair at the PNE. No matter your decision, boundless entertainment awaits!

Enjoy a Water Sport or Two – There are several hot spots along our Vancouver shores to rent kayaks or paddleboards but Deep Cove Kayak has it all. And the best thing? Once you are done your activity, you can stroll through cozy Deep Cove and grab a gelato or doughnut at Honey Doughnuts  for a sweet treat.

Kitsilano Pool – Perfectly located on the oceanfront with Canada’s longest salt-water, outdoor pool. This iconic destination is located in Kits beach. A must visit destination every summer!

Granville Island – A perfect place to visit year round with its unique gift stores + large fresh fruit and veggie market. But even a better visit during the summer with its outdoor entertainment, shuttle boats + ample restaurants with outdoor patio seating. Granville Island has it all!

Outdoor Market – Whether you enjoy the unique bites at the Richmond Night Market or prefer the artisan crafts and outdoor live bands at the many Night Markets, these outdoor venues are a great summer visit. Full of lively activity, delicious food + music, if you’re looking to play outside, these are the spots to be!
