Community Profile: Main Street

In preparation for the launch of Eastpark, our new community on Main and Quebec at 35th Ave, we decided to shop the area for furnishings for the presentation centre. Main Street has such a personality in itself, we couldn’t help but want to incorporate a bit of that character into our community.

Main Street is a haven for those who are-lets just say-not afraid to be different. This neighbourhood is anything but cookie cutter, and is as unique as its residents and shop owners. The streets are lined with small local shops and eclectic restaurants-there truly is something for everyone in this area. Whether you want to find your next exciting vintage clothing purchase, or have a delicious vegetarian meal, this is the street for you. We have put together a list of some of our favorite shops and restaurants on this iconic street, and hope that you will get a chance to visit them yourself!

Shops:

Bruce’s Eyewear-Tucked away in a small storefront on 20th and Main, this is a shop you won’t want to miss. Carrying designs by some of fashion’s most iconic designers (like Oliver Goldsmith, who designed Audrey Hepburn’s black sunglasses from “Breakfast at Tiffanies”), this store is sure to impress. With an eclectic collection of eyeglasses and sunglasses, you will never have to worry about someone “copying you.” Each design is truly one of a kind. YPG-STN_Vancouver-Bruce-1_
