Fall Décor Trends

The end of summer is now upon us and while this might make you wish that the long, lazy summer days would never end, there are many reasons to celebrate the start of the fall season. One reason is the stylish new home décor trends for fall 2016. It is easy to update the look of your home by incorporating a few chic touches. HGTV has compiled a list of the top 25 home décor trends for fall 2016. Three of our favourites are:

  1. MATTE BLACK FIXTURES. Chrome fixtures will always be a classically elegant option for your home. However if you want to try something new there are many different styles of matte black fixtures for your cabinet pulls or kitchen and bathroom faucets. Matte black fixtures add an understated but unique touch to the design of your home and this trend works with almost all styles from traditional to contemporary and everything in between.
  2. GEOMETRIC WALL PAPER. Patterned wall paper has been in fashion for home décor for a few years now, but the most recent trend features wall paper with geometric patterns with high contrast colours — think black and white or grey and green. It is best to use these bold patterns to cover a small room or one feature wall in a larger room so the space isn’t overwhelmed.
  3. LARGE-SCALE LIGHTING. Over scale lighting such as chandeliers and pendant lights add dramatic flair to your kitchen and dining space. This is also one of the easiest and quickest changes you can make to update your home for fall.
